4.   CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

I would like to wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I  would also like you all to join me in thanking the League Committee for their hard work. In one of my reports a few months ago I informed you all about linespersons smoking when running the line. The next person caught the club concerned will be charged with bringing the League into disrepute, surely you  all realize how dangerous this is. Would all Secretaries please read rule 23 a,b,c,d, as a lot of reports are coming in late .
Football is a contact sport that is played in the winter and referees will only call games off if there is a danger to the players.

5.   VICE-CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

Low Refs marks received:
25/11/07 U9 Swallows v Cliffe Royals
U9 Oak Athletic v New Road
Wish everybody Merry Xmas & Happy New Year

6.   SECRETARY’S REPORT

I have been sorry to hear of a number of injuries sustained during matches this season including several broken arms and legs.  If this happens to a player in your club don’t forget to claim the fracture benefit included in your KCFA block insurance cover.  I have reminded a couple of secretaries already this season.

I was reading an article in the magazine ‘Total Youth Football’ by Alan Clarke regarding Child Protection and CRB checks.  We have no instruction on this from the FA and so I made enquiries after reading this article. Clubs should be aware that from the start 2008/09 season (a mere 8 months off) it will be mandatory, for all persons supervising/working with children whether paid or voluntary to have an FA CRB check.   You are advised to deal with this if you have not done so already as soon as possible.  Also it will be a requirement to have a Club Welfare Officer in every club.  This is stated on KCFA affiliation forms.  If you have any questions about this please contact the KCFA Child Protection Officer Val Hajialexandrou – e-mail val.hajialexandrou@btopenworld.com .

Members of the Division 2 K.C.F.A. Committee will be in attendance at the MNYL meeting on 02/01/08.

A very Happy Christmas everyone.  I do hope you enjoy the break.  See you in 2008!

There are still loads of simple mistakes being made on the cards despite my previous reports.

Please also make sure that you are aware of the procedures regarding games that are abandoned or postponed following the terrible weather last weekend.

May I send seasonal greetings to all the managers and players in my age groups and of course all you hard working club secretaries too.

Enjoy the break

Under 12 Secretary

Quite a few fines creeping in so please double check your cards before posting.  Also cards must arrive by Wednesday after the fixture -  a number were received late this month.

Under 13 Secretary

Just a reminder of the message already  sent to clubs that my e-mail address is a.p.loftus@tinyworld.co.uk  I am unable to access my previous address any longer.

Under 14 Secretary

I would like to start by wishing every team a Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year. So far we have been lucky with the weather except for last weekend. Congratulations to everyone who made it through to the next round of the cup and bad luck to those that did not. Over the last few weeks I have been to see some games and I must say that most of them are played in good spirit and there is some good football being played.  I am trying to get round to watching teams that I have not seen play yet. Can I just remind managers when they sending new registrations could you please put in a sae.

 Michele

Under 16 Secretary

Congratulations to those teams still in League, John Leeds and the Kent Youth Cup.

There will be rearranged games for cup weeks as we are now behind schedule.  I will try and get them out to you all as soon as possible.

I would like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas and New Year.

Under 18 Secretary

Good luck to all teams in the quarter finals of the League Cup and John Leeds Trophy to be played on 20th January.

Postponed Games

Chatham Colts United v Woodcoombe Youth 16/12/07 – Division 1

Due to Woodcoombe Youth players on a school trip to Spain.

Walderslade v Shorne Rangers 27/01/08 – Division 1

Due to Walderslade participating in the Kent Youth Cup

Finally, Thanks to all teams for their co-operation over the past year. The majority of you make my job a little easier (now that you have all finally realised that I moved house at the beginning of the year)

I would like to wish all secretaries, club officials, players and of course my colleagues on the MNYL a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year

8.   TREASURER’S REPORT

9.    REFEREES SECRETARY’S REPORT

Discipline:

The following figures are up to 2/12/07 with no post yet received for the latter date but several e-mails.

Cautions This season– 178; Dismissals – 31; Misconduct reports – 15.

Cautions Last Season- 169; Dismissals-  35;  Misconduct reports - 14

Pretty much the same situation as last season. However, the number of reports of club officials and spectators abusing referees is very disappointing. If you think you can referee better than our registered officials then sit and pass the course, buy a uniform and register with me as a referee. If you do not want to do this, then keep your opinions to yourself.

Every person who has been reported for this type of misconduct will be dealt with by the KCFA for the offence and then by the league for any breaches of league rules. Do not expect leniency.

A reminder that complete team sheets must be given to the referee, before the game, at all levels. These must be kept by the referee for 28 days after the game for examination by the league, if required.

Compliments:

From the referee of Beausports v Fulston Zebras u18 12/11/07

may I pass on my congratulations to both teams for their work rate, team spirit and exemplary behaviour……..an absolute pleasure to referee.”

From the referee of Cliffe Royals v Spartac Rangers u18 2/12/07

“ In appalling conditions, both teams tried to play their football in a sporting spirit . Had it not been for the way they conducted themselves, I would have been tempted to abandon the game late on due to the worsening condition of the pitch. I wish to thank both managers for the way the lads conducted themselves and the hospitality they both provided to me”

From the manager of Fulston Zebras u18’s.

“I would like to pass on my thanks  to the referee, and the  players, managers and  supporters of Thamesview Youth U18's for their positive attitude in ensuring the match on Sunday 2/12/07 was completed in what can only be described as appalling conditions. The match was played in an excellent spirit by both teams and this mainly down to *****’s refereeing”

From the referee of Sheerness East v New Road u18’s. 2/12/07

Can you please pass on my thanks to all the players from sheerness and new road under 18s for making it a pleasure to referee in conditions fit for ducks.

Tom Ellis.

His current telephone numbers are:  Land Line: 01634 308784; mobile 07517205219.

10.   RESULTS SECRETARY/WEBMASTER’S REPORT

Silly mistakes are costing Clubs money. Please double check your emails for errors before sending your results to me.

A late change to fixtures by the Fixture Secretaries often means that the fixtures listed on the web pages are not always accurate. Results secretaries within clubs need to aware of any changes sent to clubs via email from the MNYL fixture secretaries.

11.  CUP COMMITTEE

The quarter finals draw took place prior to this meeting with  Keith Long for Fulston Zebras, Mark Taylor and Eddie Lund for Real 60 and Chris Innes and Alan Clark for Rainham 84 in attendance to observe the draw.

The matches should be played on 20th January 2008.

The draw will be circulated tomorrow.
