4. CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
I would like to wish everybody
a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I would also like you all to join me in
thanking the League Committee for their hard work. In one of my reports a few
months ago I informed you all about linespersons smoking when running the line.
The next person caught the club concerned will be charged with bringing the
League into disrepute, surely you all realize
how dangerous this is. Would all Secretaries please read rule 23 a,b,c,d, as a lot of reports are
coming in late .
Football is a contact sport that is played in the winter and referees will only
call games off if there is a danger to the players.

6. SECRETARY’S REPORT
I have been sorry to hear of a number of injuries sustained during matches this season including several broken arms and legs. If this happens to a player in your club don’t forget to claim the fracture benefit included in your KCFA block insurance cover. I have reminded a couple of secretaries already this season.
I was reading an article in the
magazine ‘Total Youth Football’ by Alan Clarke regarding Child Protection and
CRB checks. We have no instruction on
this from the FA and so I made enquiries after reading this article. Clubs
should be aware that from the start 2008/09 season (a mere 8 months off) it
will be mandatory, for all persons supervising/working with children whether
paid or voluntary to have an FA CRB check.
You are advised to deal with this if you have not done so already as
soon as possible. Also it will be a
requirement to have a Club Welfare Officer in every club. This is stated on KCFA affiliation forms. If you have any questions about this please
contact the KCFA Child Protection Officer
Members of the Division 2
K.C.F.A. Committee will be in attendance at the MNYL meeting on
A very Happy Christmas everyone. I do hope you enjoy the break. See you in 2008!

Under 14 Secretary
I would like to start by wishing every team a Merry Christmas and
all the best for the New Year. So far we have been lucky with the weather
except for last weekend. Congratulations to everyone who made it through to the
next round of the cup and bad luck to those that did not. Over the last few
weeks I have been to see some games and I must say that most of them are played
in good spirit and there is some good football being played. I am trying to get round to
watching teams that I have not seen play yet. Can I just remind managers
when they sending new registrations could you please put in a sae.
Michele
Under 16 Secretary
Congratulations to those teams still in League, John Leeds and the Kent Youth Cup.
There will be rearranged games for cup weeks as we are now behind schedule. I will try and get them out to you all as soon as possible.

Finally, Thanks to all teams for their co-operation over the past year. The majority of you make my job a little easier (now that you have all finally realised that I moved house at the beginning of the year)
I would like to wish all secretaries, club officials, players and of course my colleagues on the MNYL a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year

Pretty
much the same situation as last season. However, the number of reports of club officials and spectators
abusing referees is very disappointing. If you think you can referee better
than our registered officials then sit and pass the course, buy a uniform and
register with me as a referee. If you do not want to do this, then keep your
opinions to yourself.
Every person who has
been reported for this type of misconduct will be dealt with by the KCFA for
the offence and then by the league for any breaches of league rules. Do not
expect leniency.
A
reminder that complete
team sheets must be given to the referee, before the game, at all levels. These
must be kept by the referee for 28 days after the game for examination by the
league, if required.

In appalling conditions,
both teams tried to play their football in a sporting spirit . Had it not been
for the way they conducted themselves, I would have been tempted to abandon the
game late on due to the worsening condition of the pitch. I wish to thank both managers
for the way the lads conducted themselves and the hospitality they both
provided to me”
