Correspondence contd.:

Woodcoombe Youth   Would like to pass on congratulations to the referee and team of Swallows U/9 for the sporting conduct displayed at the tie on 13/1/08.

Strood 87   Thanking everyone involved with Bredhurst Juniors U/15 for a great quarter final match which they really enjoyed.  Strood wish Bredhurst good luck in the semis.

Cuxton 91   U/18 Cougars thank  Woodcoombe Youth for a great game of football in the League Cup quarter finals.

Woodpecker  enquiring if they can enter 2 teams into the U/12 League next season. – please see general decision below and supply proposed list of players to be registered in the new team:

Kent Referee’s Association    Medway Branch – Abuse by spectators towards young referees.  The members of the Medway Branch stress the importance of recruitment of young referees for the future of the Branch .  They ask the MNYL to stamp out abuse of this abuse by imposing maximum penalties against clubs found guilty at the KCFA.

They are now advising young referees not to officiate mini soccer (a number of incidents have occurred at this level).

Following enquiries about entry into the MNYL 2008/09 season from new clubs and existing clubs adding new teams, the following policy was agreed by the Committee:

Applications from new Clubs:  In the light of initiatives introduced by the K.C.F.A. (see secretary’s report), future applications for entry into the M.N.Y.L. will only be considered from clubs accredited with F.A. Charter  Standard or Development Club status.

Applications for new teams 2008/09 season:  THIS EXCLUDES U/8s teams on entry to the M.N.Y.L.  and teams transferring to another club by mutual agreement.

If any club applies to enter an additional team, not previously in the M.N.Y.L.;   you will be asked to supply a list of players you intend to register and to explain circumstances of the team’s formation.  There will be no automatic right to enter this team.  You may be asked to attend an interview or  be offered a ‘reserve’ place.  This will depend on the number of teams continuing into next season and may vary according to the age group.

The recommendations of the M.N.Y.L. will then put to the A.G.M..

4.   CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

It would be nice to be able to write something positive in my report. We now
have a few young referees training the same as your Sons and Daughters are
learning to play football, as spectators you are not giving these referees a
chance, please remember some of them are under eighteen (18).
If any parent is found guilty by the KCFA or the League this could mean that
your Son or Daughter could have their registration to play in this League
withdrawn. This will mean the unruly parents will not have a reason to go to
matches. This could also mean that the team would have to come before the
Discipline Committee before being put up for re-registration next season.
Would all Secretaries or Chairpersons please pass on the minutes to all
Managers so that they can inform their parents that the League will not
tolerate bad behaviour.

6.   SECRETARY’S REPORT

The new Kent Football Strategy has arrived.  It outlines the K.C.F.A. vision for Football in Kent from 2008 – 2012.  The Development Plan is clearly laid out and as a League we expect to receive further guidance soon regarding the FA Charter Standard Initiative.  It does appear that all affiliated youth clubs will need to achieve FA Charter Standard by August 2011 and I strongly advise you to make enquiries at the KCFA about this if you do not have the status already or have not started working towards the Standard.  You may be pleasantly surprised that you have many things in place and don’t have too much more to do other than document everything.

I have had various correspondence this month from concerned Under 10 managers concerning their players availability for when they go to 11 a side football. The details are as follows as per the handbook players must be aged 10 and under 11 midnight 31st August of each current season. It is not possible once the player reaches the age of 10 after this date for them to be able to rejoin the team this is also clarified on page 53 of the KCFA handbook

Well done to all the teams that were successful in the recent cup quarter finals – good luck to all of you in the semi’s.

Don’t forget now it is no longer possible to de- register or transfer players as this deadline has now passed it is possible to continue to register players however if you’re still in the cup new players will not be eligible to play in the semi finals.

Congratulations to the eight clubs that have reached the semi final of the cups. Re-arranged fixtures have been sent out to all club secretaries so do not assume that you have not a game if you have already played the scheduled fixture. If you have not yet received your re-arranged fixtures (up until 2/3/08) contact your club secretary.

If anyone would like to play on the 17th February please let me know.

11. CUP COMMITTEE

The cup draw for the semi finals took place prior to the meeting and was observed by a number of member clubs.  It will be sent out to all clubs tomorrow.

A meeting is arranged for all finalists.  The club secretary together with the manager of each team in a final is required to attend on Wednesday, 5th March 2008 at Lordswood Leisure Centre.  The fine for non attendance will be £20 (Rule 5h).  All arrangements for the finals will be explained at the meeting.

12.   PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER’S  REPORT

I know that Chris Carey has sent out an email to all clubs informing you of
the change of email address for Match Reports, here it is just to make sure
that you have it matchreports@mnyl.org.uk Please except my apologies for any
inconvenience that this may have caused you but it is due to circumstances
out of my control with the old hotmail address.
When sending through your reports please can you make sure that you include
the age group and division, I have had quite a few reports sent to me
without these and I have been unable to send them to the newspaper as the
deadline has past before I find out the information and this is a shame.
